After a day of hibernation the player interview is back with Mark Pearce making use of modern technology and e-mailing his interview to me! So without anymore time wasting lets see what the ultimate Broomleys all rounder's been thinking?


Personal


1. What football team do you support?
”None really”

2. What's your favourite food?
”Anything spicy”

3. Your favourite drink?
”Stella”

favourite band or artist?
"Any sort of cheese will do”

5. Can you dance?
”Only when helped by my favourite drink"

6. Can you sing?

”Pulp Fiction”

10. Your biggest fear/phobia?

”Rats aren't overly nice”

Cricket

1. How long have you played cricket and what made you start?

”Since I was 7 and my Mum and Dads house backs onto the club.”

2. Who is your cricketing idol and why?
”Botham just a superstar.”

3. Best player you have played with and why?
”.Played with some good uns, difficult, would have to plump for Rich Martin. Although he didn’t play with us for long he was obviously an outstanding batter"

4. Best player you have played against and why?
Colin Taylor. Amazingly consistent and would murder average bowling

5. Best ground you have played at apart from Broomleys of course?
"Hinckley and Kibworth probably on a par with each other

6. The performance you are most proud of?
Batting wise going in at around 20 for 3 and getting 133 out of a total of 250ish against Barrow in the Prem.  Bowling would be against Langtons when I hadn’t bowled for a few years, Mick Barton asked me to open the bowling and I ended up taking 8 for 50 odd."

7. Your best cricketing shot?
Pull or slap over the bowlers head

8. Describe your cricket in one word?
Over"

9. Have you ever put a ball into the graveyard?
”Yep”

10. Who is the best trainer at Broomleys?
"Kev Wardle”

11. Your opinion of Ecky's green shorts?
”Tasteful”

12. Your preferred bat make?
”Salix or Newbery”

13. Your ultimate cricket ambition?
To play with my lads one day and score a 50 with them

14. Your Broomleys senior debut?
Second team match I think against Cropston. Bowled all the way through and took six wickets for 50 odd. "

15. The best captain you have played under and why?
If only he could run as well as he captains….. Dave Bates ."

16. Your favoured fielding position?
On the other side of the rope with a pint in hand

17. The worst haircut at Broomleys?
”Guy"

8. Who has the most natural cricketing talent at Broomleys?
Would plump for Orch although there is a lot of talent at the club at the moment. Would have to say that Paul Leake is the most natural gifted player I’ve played with

19. The worst thing about cricket?
Fielding and the hanging about when it rains"

20. The best thing about cricket?
Destroying a bowling attack, winning tight matches and a great team spirit."
